New York
They appeared in the hallway outside of the crime scene. Harry threw the hat aside and they walked into the room under the crime scene tape. Doggett’s body was still lying on the ground. Though there were several federal agents hanging around the room, they were all drinking coffee or discussing the previous night’s episode of The Bachelor. Not a single one of them seemed to have any interest in the body or the case.

“See,” Mulder said to Scully. “I told you. Nobody gives a shit. Now can we go look at porn?”

Harry and Ron had hopeful looks in their eyes, but Hermione had already knelt down to examine the body closer. After a moment, she rose to her feet and said, “definitely the Avada Kedavra curse. You can tell by the look of fear on his face.”

Ron frowned as he examined the face. “That doesn’t look like fear. It doesn’t look like any expression at all, really”

Mulder nodded. “Yeah, that would be his fear face. Same as every other face, really,”

Discussion of Doggett’s range of facial expressions was abruptly ended when a rat suddenly darted from one corner of the room, across the floor, and out the door, causing Hermione to scream and jump into Mulder’s arms and Ron to scream and jump into Scully’s. Harry, however, knew the rat must be suspicious and chased it out into the hall. The rat skittered quickly in between the legs of several Federal Agents and Harry, determined to keep up with them, plowed them over and he raced to keep up.

The rat jumped down the stairs, but before it could make it out of the front door of the building and in to the street, Harry drew his wand, pointed it at the rat, and yelled, “exposé!” The rat suddenly turned into a human.

Mulder was the first to catch up to Harry and he muttered to himself. “Alex Krycek. He killed my father.”

Harry regarded Mulder in a new light. “No shit? A rat was responsible for my father’s death too.”

Mulder kicked Krycek in the stomach and Harry bitch-slapped him across the face.

“He's mine,” yelled Mulder as he picked up Krycek and body slammed him into the tile floor.

Harry followed it up with an elbow drop like he’d seen those guys do on the wrestling shows his cousin Dudley liked to watch. But it was Mulder who picked Krycek up again and suplexed him into a nearby table.

“God, that is so hot,” said Hermione in awe as a jealous Ron looked on.

“Any stupid git can do that,” Ron muttered.

Mulder grabbed Krycek’s battered body and pinned it up against the wall and said, “tell me what you know about Doggett, bitch,” through gritted teeth. Before waiting for an answer, he punched Krycek in the stomach and backhanded him across the face.

“So now suddenly you care about Doggett’s murder?” Scully said to Mulder.

“I care,” Mulder grunted as he kicked Krycek in the ribs, “about kicking this guy’s ass.”

“Stop.’ whimpered Krycek. “Stop, please. I’ll tell you everything.”
Mulder stopped for a moment to let Krycek talk, but Krycek suddenly bolted out of the building and disapparated.

“What the hell?” Mulder said.

“Blimey,” said Ron, “he must be a wizard.”

“Well, now what, Mulder?” Scully asked.

“I don’t know about you guys,” said Hermione, feigning a huge yawn, “but I sure am tired. Mulder, are you tired?”

“Uh, no, not real-“ but Hermione slid her arm around him and gave him a very flirtive look. “I mean, yeah,” said Mulder, making an even more obvious attempt at a fake yawn. “Yeah, I could use a nap.” He turned to the rest of the team. “What do you say we, uh, get a hotel room and take a nap, then we can start the investigation up again with freshened minds this evening.”

And before anybody could respond, Mulder grabbed Hermione’s arm and they ran out of the building as fast as they could.

“How thick could you get?” Harry said. He turned to look at Ron, but Ron seemed lost in Scully’s eyes.” You know Harry, he said dreamily with out looking in his direction, “they do have a point. I think we could all use a, uh, nap.”

Scully raised her eyebrows. “You think you have what it takes to nap with me little boy?” she said in a suggestive taunt.

“I’ve got magic tricks you’ve never seen before,” replied Ron. And without another look in Harry’s direction, Ron and Scully left to find a room as well.

“What the hell?!?” Harry shouted after them. “Who am I supposed to nap with?” But when Harry walked out into the street, they were gone. Harry was all alone in New York.
